The cuss words continue. I don't quite get it, but it is really good. Has anybody else besides Amanda and I started the book?
I have a more personal question for you all. I am thinking of ways to get my business to take off. Not sure which approach to take. I spoke with a lady at Borkholder Dutch Village about having a booth there. It's on my list of possibilities. I would make all kinds of stuff if I had a booth. Home decor, children's clothing, etc... But, I am so scared that nobody shops there and I would come out in the negative. So, question for you all, do you guys ever go there or know of people that do? I would obviously try to market it to people I know etc... If I got the word out that there's a place like that in there maybe the right client-ale would come to see my stuff. Ugh...I'm so torn!! Give me your thoughts!!!
On the positive side, a business owner in Georgia contacted me about buying a couple of my diaper bags to sell in her store. We'll see what the outcome is of that situation. Which brings me around to my next option. I could sell wholesale or on consignment to retail stores/boutiques.
Alright, I'll stop, I would love my beautiful friends opinions!! Thanks!
P.S. Amanda, I have not forgotten about your bag, I just haven't gone to SB to get fabric yet, but next time I do, I'll get your bag done ASAP!!

Erin -LOVE the idea. I've never been to borkholder dutch village, but I think your business could really take off ! Jared and I have some thoughts on this... an email is on its way to you soon about it! :)
ReplyDeleteokay, so i have a lot to say to catch up since i'm not an internet person. so, i loved the posting of our hacienda night recapping. you did do a good job with the pictures, erin, and i look forward to more times we can do this. we will miss julie and we already miss jalayne, however we now have lindsay! so hearing you all talk about the book i am reminded of the story even though i am not reading it (i am still reading a series by karen kingsbury which is great and i leave for vacation in a week and will continue to be a book worm because i can't put it down). it does start out confusing, i do agree with you erin, but as you can see from amanda, you can't stop reading it once you get started. and i do think that's a good idea to read hosea. and finally, erin...probably the reason why no one goes to burkholders is because it's mostly out of towners that go there, to my knowledge from living in nappanee. i do think it's a good idea to try a booth there unless the rental is a lot. also, consignment is a good idea too. i can drop some off for you in syracuse and milford if you want me to since you don't make that way. so anyhow, love you all and lets go to haci soon!!
ReplyDeletekarla
Erin...I am still very confused about the cuss word thing! I need to take a look at that book of yours! Anyway, I have been to Borkholder's many times, but not in the last few years. I used to go with my grandma Sheets a lot and I have also went a few times with my Mom. I think it would be a great opportunity for you, but I do agree with Karla that there are probably more out of towners than regulars that shop there. Still, that would be really neat :). How awesome that you may be able to put your merchandise in some shops!! It totally doesn't surprise me...you are so crafty and talented! P.S. Don't you worry your pretty little head about getting my bag done quickly. I know you are busy :).
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the input ladies! I think I will probably just take the risk and jump in. Otherwise, I will always wonder what would have happened. You are all kind and I love you all!
ReplyDeleteErin, I am not aware of any cuss words in my book. I'm confused. Anything that is suggestive or potentially vulgar is nicely paraphrased I would say.
ReplyDeleteAnd best of luck with your business venture. I'm not familiar with the shops in the area so I don't have much advice to give. But I'm behind you all the way!
