Ok, if you haven't gotten too far into the book you may not want to read this post but for those of us who have.... which girl are you pulling for at this point?
Whenever they're talking about Emma I fall in love with her, can't imagine how lonely she must feel. She lost her mom AND the love of her life, ugh makes me want to cry. I find myself rooting for her saying she deserves Brad more than Laura does, she's been through more with him and has more memories with him.
And Laura, so innocent, oblivious of what is going on. Then she is blindsided by Brad's confession. I want her to have Brad because he's been misleading her all this time and here she is a great Christian girl following God's will for her life and this blows up in her face. I loved how stern she was with Brad after he confessed everything, she didn't just apologize and move on. She told him how hard it was going to be let him go talk to Emma.
Ok I could go on and on but I'll stop. Post your thoughts. I don't know what "team" I'm on. (Kind of like the Twilight series, Team Jacob, Team Edward :) )

I am totally rooting for Emma. I feel bad because he's engaged to Laura, but I really want him to end up with Emma. I feel like it won't happen that way though, b/c it's a Christian book.For some reason I feel like he'll stay with his fiance. We shall see!!! Less than 100 pages left for me. Can't wait to finish. Hoping it's not a let down at the end. I'll love it regardless, but not as much as I love you all!!!! <3
ReplyDeleteErin, it's taking everything in me not to read the last few pages of the book. For the rest of you, I told Erin the other day that I always read the last part of the book so I know what happens but I'm trying to resist with this one so that I don't ruin it for everyone!!! So anxious to see what happens.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to be totally honest here...I think I want Brad to ultimately be with Laura. I know that is the "story book" ending, but I think that is the only thing that would work. Yes, Emma was Brad's first love, but they were so young and made some difficult decisions. I know that they have been through a lot together, but I feel that they both need forgiveness, as well as a fresh start. I think they will always cherish their time together, but will be glad that they could start over. I think it's pretty obvious that Brad is totally in love with Laura and it's a different kind of love than he had for Emma. But...I guess that is just my opinion :). Also, I really want Emma to find the Lord and give Gavin a chance to love her. He is so sweet and I think he would be really good for her.
ReplyDeleteThese last few chapters, I have wished I could just jump into the book and wrap my arms around Laura. I know it's pretty ridiculous that she has never had a rough patch in her life (not likely), but what a whammy to slam on her 4 weeks before her dream day!! I will say though, her parent's are amazing and so are her friends :). I love you all!
P.S. I am on Chapter 23! Woohoo!
